Heidi Bender Kauffman, b. 1982, is an artist who investigates the intersections of technology, the physical environment, and the webs of connected individuals that populate the Earth.   Her work has been shown in venues across the United States and abroad such as The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in Pittsburgh, PA, ROY G BIV gallery in Columbus, OH, and the Huembes Folkloric Market in Managua, Nicaragua.  She is currently developing a new body of work in clay.

Bender received an MFA in Sculpture and Expanded Practice from the Ohio University in 2009, and a BA from Hope College in 2004.  She lives in Portsmouth Ohio with her husband Dan, and children Aria and Selaina. She is the lead educator at the Southern Ohio Museum of Art and Cultural Center.
